The course

What is AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED?

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is the American Heart Association course for people who are not healthcare providers. It covers what to do in the first minutes of a medical emergency, an injury or a cardiac arrest until EMS arrives.

In the blended version you learn the first aid and CPR knowledge online, then practice and test the hands-on skills with an instructor. It is a good fit when an employer, school, gym or licensing rule asks for an AHA first aid and CPR card and you do not need healthcare-level BLS.

Who needs it

Who needs AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED?

Always check the exact course name your employer, school or licensing office asks for.

Workplace first aid responders

Offices, warehouses, construction and retail teams often name people to give first aid until help arrives. A Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED card is a common way to meet that.

Coaches, camps and youth programs

Coaches, after-school staff and camp counselors are often asked for first aid and CPR. If your program cares for infants and young children, check whether it needs a pediatric course instead.

Fitness and wellness

Personal trainers, yoga and group fitness instructors are usually asked by their certifying body or gym for a current CPR and AED card.

Security, hospitality and everyone else

Security officers, hotel and event staff, building managers and parents who want to be ready for an emergency.
